Hey. So… we’re NOT dead.

Up until this last month we’ve actually been productive, but we were working on songs with beats. And with our current tech (my iPhone) there’s no way we can record those songs without them sounding like shit.

Some other stuff happened in between. Easter. Me working a lot because my boss went on vacation for a week. David going to Ottawa on some weekends to see his girlfriend. Other various little things. Basically, our productivity took a hit.

Anyways, these past few practices we were working on a song which was, well, difficult to fully flesh out for two people. So we scrapped that, and threw together a completely different song in about 15 minutes. That’s going up later tonight.

One last thing. Song choice is something David and I have to think about a lot. Our duo lacks the versatility and emotion of the human voice. And songs that would sound good with an acoustic guitar are generally not so good with piano (You can’t strum a piano, you see).

Essentially, I’m asking for help. If you have any ideas for songs that would fit a steel drum/piano combo, inbox me. Three–plus heads are better than two, after all.

  • Me: If a big butt is a badonkadonk, what's a small butt?
  • David: A badinkadank.

Bored at work.

Bored at work.

The good: LOOK! AT THAT SCORE! YES!

More good: This was on Challenge difficulty. Not anything crazy, about 8 feet (out of 10), but hey. Baby steps. I’ll trying to get my stamina back.

The suck: One good and one boo. >.<

I read an article on Lifehacker which talked about how we can be more productive by giving into the nagging voices in our heads.

Not necessarillyallof them. The one that’s telling me to take my pants off right now isn’t a voice I want to listen to when I’m at work.

But there’s other, more rational nagging voices. Voices like “You can’t sleep anymore, time to get up!”, “Stop eating or you’ll be too full for dinner in a few hours!”, “Don’t buy that thing!”, Get off your lazy ass and exercize or go outside or something!”

And of course, the voice I hear all too often: “BED. NOW.”

I want to be productive. I want to be a better me. I mean, who doesn’t want to improve theirself in some way, shape, or form.

My idea is to keep track of how many times I ignore these voices and tally them up somewhere. A whiteboard, my iPhone, on my hand, whatever. That way I’ll be able to visualize all the times I could’ve made a better decision.

Okay, I’ll end it there. There’s a voice telling me not to be on Tumblr during work, particularly when customers are in the store. :P
